West Covina man convicted of killing wife after alleged affair

A West Covina man was convicted Wednesday of stabbing and beating his wife to death after his girlfriend reportedly broke up with him because she found out he was married.
A Los Angeles jury deliberated for two hours and found 62-year-old Tomas Rodriguez Infante guilty of killing his wife Jan. 13, 2013, according to the Los Angeles County district attorney’s office.
Infante’s son testified during the trial, saying he believed his father killed his stepmother, Charito Tolentino, prosecutors said.
Infante was reportedly having an affair, prosecutors said. But his girlfriend broke up with him after she found out about his wife. The next day, Tolentino, 57, went missing.
Days later, authorities found her body in the trunk of her car parked outside the Hawaiian Gardens Casino in the 11800 block of Carson Street.
Tolentino was stabbed and beaten to death, prosecutors said.
Prosecutors alleged surveillance video from the casino, blood evidence collected at the home and cellphone records connected Infante to the crime.
