Authorities have yet to release the identity of a 45-year-old man shot and killed in Whittier over the weekend.
About 10 p.m. Sunday the man, his wife and another couple were standing in the front yard of a home in the 6100 block of Pioneer Boulevard when a white vehicle drove by and someone inside opened fire.
The man was shot multiple times and rushed to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The three others were not shot. The vehicle continued north toward Whittier Boulevard.
Authorities said the shooting appeared to be gang-related, though they said the man who was shot was not a gang member. No arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing.
