Wing had watched the game at a local bar, police said. Afterward, he picked up several passengers and dropped them off and was on his way to pick up more passengers.

“The driver was unaware of his physical location due to his impairment and was relying on his GPS to direct him where to go,†the Police Department said in a statement.

Police found two empty cans of Coors Light beer in the car -- one under the driver’s seat and one under the passenger seat.

Wing was booked at the Ventura County Jail and his car was impounded.

In a statement, Uber said it has a zero-tolerance policy for alcohol and drug use.

“We are clearly disappointed to hear that something like this could have occurred and have permanently removed this driver-partner’s access to Uber,†the company said.
