9-year-old girl, two men wounded in Compton shootings
A 9-year-old girl and two men were wounded Monday night in what authorities believe were related shootings in Compton.
About 8 p.m., two men were shot outside a fish market in a shopping center near Central Avenue and Alondra Boulevard, Los Angeles County sheriff’s Lt. Marc Lucio said.
The girl was shot in the leg a few blocks away near Central Avenue, he said.
Both men were taken to a hospital. Their condition was not known. The girl was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries, Lucio said.
Although the shootings occurred in different locations, both are believed to be part of one overall incident, Lucio said.
Investigators were canvassing the crime scene late Monday. No suspect or motive has been identified, Lucio said.
