Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department officials say the suspicious package left behind at the Union Bank in Norwalk was a “hoax device.â€

Authorities cleared the scene about 1:40 p.m. Monday. A robbery had been reported about 10:30 a.m. at Union Bank at 12221 Norwalk Blvd., according to the Sheriff’s Department.

Shortly after, authorities discovered a suspicious package at the bank.

They said the bank robber, described as wearing a plaid shirt and gray hooded sweatshirt, entered the bank and placed the device on the bank teller’s counter.
