22 hurt in school bus crash in Menifee

Twenty-two people were injured Wednesday in a crash involving a school bus in Menifee, authorities said.
The collision between the bus and a solo vehicle was reported shortly before 2 p.m. near Evans and Holland roads in the western Riverside County city, according to the county’s fire department.

A person who was riding in the solo vehicle suffered major injuries and was taken to the hospital, fire officials said. Another person inside that vehicle suffered minor injuries and was also hospitalized.
The 20 people who suffered moderate injuries were riding in the bus; of those, one person was taken to the hospital, fire officials said.
Two dozen firefighters and five helicopters responded to the crash scene, fire officials said. It’s unclear what led to the collision.
