Santa Ana police are searching for the driver in a fatal hit-and-run that left two men dead Friday morning.
The suspect was driving a black Audi when he ran a stop sign at Cabrillo Park Drive and East Fruit Street and struck the victims’ Nissan, said Cpl. Anthony Bertagna, spokesman for the Santa Ana Police Department.
The collision occurred shortly before 11 a.m.
After exiting his car, the suspect attempted to open the passenger and driver door of the Nissan. When the doors wouldn’t open, he walked away from the crash, talking on his cellphone, and went into a nearby condominium.
Authorities have set up a perimeter and are searching for the suspect, who is described as in his 20s with a shaved head.
There was no further description on the two victims, Bertagna said.
