Report of man with gun at South Coast Plaza appears unfounded
Police in Costa Mesa responded to reports of a man with a gun Friday night at the South Coast Plaza shopping mall but said it appears to have been a false alarm.
A Costa Mesa police watch commander said officers did not find anyone with a weapon.
Several shoppers reported on Twitter that parts of the mall were shut down for a time.
