Murder investigation, second shooting prompt road closure in Pomona

Pomona police closed a section of San Bernardino Road in both directions Friday night for a homicide investigation and a second related shooting.
Police were conducting surveillance in the 1500 block of San Bernardino Road before 10 p.m. on a man suspected to be involved in the recent shooting death of a woman, according to a news release from police.
As officers moved into the area, the unidentified man fled on foot, police said.
During the chase, officers heard a single gunshot and found the man on the ground with a suspected self-inflicted wound.
The man was airlifted to the hospital in grave condition, police said.
No officer fired their gun, police said.
It is unclear how long the section of road will be closed.
