Huntington Beach police shoot and kill armed man

A Huntington Beach police officer shot and killed an armed suspect Saturday morning after a foot chase and confrontation.
The incident began when an officer contacted two men in a vehicle near the intersection of Glencoe Drive and Silver Lane about 7:45 a.m., according to a police statement.
“The males exited the vehicle and ran from the officer,” according to the statement. “The officer chased one suspect. There was a confrontation that resulted in an officer involved shooting.... A handgun has been recovered from the suspect at the scene.”
The victim was identified as Eric Marquez, 26, according to Ruben Young, who said he was Marquez’s younger brother.
The other suspect fled the scene and remains at large.
The Police Department only identified the officer as a nine-year law enforcement veteran.
