Reporting from San Diego — A private plane made an emergency landing at Torrey Pines Golf Course shortly before noon Tuesday.
The pilot and his two passengers were not injured as the restored biplane made a powerless landing on the fairway of the par-four 4th hole on the north course. No one on the ground was hurt.
Within minutes after landing, the plane had been pushed out of the way so that play could continue at the very popular public golf course overlooking the ocean
The plane -- with an open engine and open cockpit -- was initially spotted over the south course apparently suffering a lack of power, witnesses said. It then seemed to regain power and looped toward the north course before again losing power.
Initial reports say the plane was being flown out of the city’s Montgomery Field Airport.
