A 33-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs in connection with a crash that left a Los Angeles police motorcycle officer in critical condition, police said.
Qaneak Cobb of Pacoima was arrested after the collision, which took place about 5:30 p.m. at the intersection of Lankershim Boulevard and Saticoy Street, police said. The officer, whose name has not been released, was stopped at a traffic light when Cobb’s red SUV struck him from behind and pinned him to the car in front, authorities said.
The officer remained in critical condition at a hospital, where he underwent surgery Saturday night, police said.
A passenger in the vehicle driven by Cobb was detained for questioning and then released, police said.
