A grandfather and grandson died in an apparent murder-suicide in Palmdale, Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department officials said Thursday.
Deputies responded about 2:49 p.m. Wednesday to a call of a shooting at a home in the 37800 block of 29th Street East, according to a Sheriff’s Department statement.
The officers found the two men inside, each with a single gunshot wound, the statement said. Both were pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators said the two men -- a grandfather and grandson -- had been arguing when it escalated into a shoving match and ultimately ended when the grandfather retrieved a handgun and shot his grandson.
The grandfather then turned the gun on himself, authorities said.
The names and ages of the men were not immediately available.
There have been three homicides in Palmdale since the start of the year, according to The Times’ Homicide Report.
