Los Angeles police say a brazen shooting in broad daylight in Koreatown on Monday afternoon may have been gang-related.
Police said just before 2 p.m., two unidentified men walked up to two men in their 20s in a parking lot driveway at South Normandie Avenue and West 3rd Street and briefly exchanged words before opening fire.
HOMICIDE REPORT: A story for every victim
Both victims were shot multiple times and pronounced dead at the hospital. The coroner has yet to release their identities.
The two gunmen were last seen walking north on Normandie. No arrests have been made.
Three people were victims of homicide in Koreatown in 2013, down from eight in 2012, according to the Times’ Homicide Report.
However, there has been somewhat of an uptick in violent crimes in Koreatown, including two robberies in recent weeks within blocks of Monday’s shooting, according to Crime L.A.
