Marijuana dispensary worker arrested after confronting dealer

San Bernardino County sheriff’s deputies arrested a marijuana dispensary worker but not a suspected street dealer when the two got into a confrontation about drug sales outside the store.
It started about 9:30 a.m. Thursday as customers waited outside the Higher Healing Medical Center marijuana dispensary in Hesperia for the shop to open, authorities said.
A 41-year-old Phelan man drove into the parking lot and began offering the dispensary customers marijuana, according to a sheriff’s department news release.
A worker at the shop, Brandon Johnson, 30, came out with a BB handgun normally used by the dispensary security guard, officials said. Police were called and Johnson was arrested on suspicion of brandishing a firearm because the other man thought it was an actual gun.
The other man was not arrested because sheriff’s deputies did not see him in the act of selling marijuana, said Cindy Bachman, a spokeswoman for the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department.
The Sheriff’s Department and Hesperia city officials had shut down the dispensary earlier in the week, officials said. It was unclear why the worker was inside.
