Two men were arrested on suspicion of stealing a Frito-Lay truck Friday in Bellflower.
The truck was reported stolen about 6 a.m. and not long after, a deputy spotted the truck rumbling down a street with the tailgate down, said Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Sgt. Thomas Vernola.
When the deputy pulled up behind the vehicle, the truck turned down a residential street in Paramount and hit several parked cars and crashed, Vernola said.
The driver jumped out and ran but was caught not far away. A passenger was arrested at the scene, Vernola said.
The suspects’ identities were not immediately available.
They were booked on suspicion of grand theft.
