Fire crews and a water-dropping helicopter extinguished a 1 1/2-acre brush fire that erupted near a freeway in Glendora on Friday.
The fire was reported about 9:50 a.m. near the 210 Freeway, west of Sunflower Avenue, said Los Angeles County Fire dispatch supervisor Cheryl Sims.
Los Angeles city firefighters assisted in knocking down the blaze at 12:46 p.m., Sims said.
The fire prompted a SigAlert that closed the right lane of the eastbound 210 Freeway, near Sunflower. Caltrans crews were also called in to clear rocks and other debris. All lanes reopened at about 12:50 p.m.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
