Envelope with white powder sent to Burbank police station deemed safe

An envelope containing s white powder that was mailed to and opened at the Burbank police station Friday afternoon was deemed safe, police said.
Hazardous materials teams were called to the station in the 200 block of North 3rd Street about 2:30 p.m. after an employee opened the envelope addressed to the police department, said police Sgt. Claudio Losacco.
No one was injured.
Burbank Police Department detectives, along with the FBI and the U.S. Postal Inspection Service, are investigating the incident.
