Two adults and three children were injured Friday afternoon in a three-car accident at a self-service carwash in Monrovia.
The accident occurred about 3:40 p.m. in the 900 block of East Huntington Drive, according to the Monrovia Police Department.
The driver of a Toyota Camry had just finished washing his car and was leaving when he lost control and struck two other vehicles, which then struck a 10-year-old boy and a woman.
The boy was taken to a nearby hospital. Additionally, a child inside one of the vehicles was also taken to the hospital for observation.
Police said the woman suffered an arm injury.
The man at the center of the crash also suffered a facial injury and an 8-year-old passenger in his vehicle complained of arm pain, but it was unclear if that child was taken to the hospital.
Police said a preliminary investigation shows that alcohol or drugs did not play a role in the accident.
The incident remains under investigation.
