A bank robber with a Santa Claus hat, a fake beard and a handgun has struck in Solana Beach, the FBI says.
Witnesses described the robber, who hit a Chase Bank on Tuesday, as a white man in his 40s, 6-foot-3 and 180 pounds. In addition to the Santa cap, he wore sunglasses, jeans and a fanny pack, the FBI said.
The robber pulled a black handgun and demanded “large bills” from a teller at the Chase Bank branch in the north San Diego County community.
No one was hurt during the incident, the FBI said. The robber escaped with an undisclosed amount of money.
Anyone with information is asked to call the FBI, (858) 320-1800, or San Diego Crime Stoppers, (888) 580-8477. The robber should be considered armed and dangerous, the FBI said.
