Actor John Stamos arrested on suspicion of DUI in Beverly Hills
Actor John Stamos was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence in Beverly Hills, police said Friday.
Stamos was pulled over at Beverly Drive and South Santa Monica Boulevard about 7:45 p.m. after authorities received many calls of a possible DUI driver near Canon Drive and South Santa Monica Boulevard, said Sgt. David Armour.
Stamos was transported by firefighters to a hospital because of a possible medical condition, but subsequent investigation found that he was driving under the influence, Armour said.
Stamos was issued a citation for DUI and was released to the care of the hospital, Armour said.
The actor is due to appear at the Airport Courthouse near Los Angeles International Airport on Sept. 11.
Stamos, 51, is best known for starring on the sitcom “Full House†as the hunky motorcycle-riding, guitar-playing Uncle Jesse between 1987 and 1995. He first gained stardom on the “General Hospital†soap opera.
Between 2005 and 2009, Stamos starred on the drama “ER.†Most recently, plans were announced to revive the “Full House†sitcom as “Fuller House,†a spinoff of the series that will appear on Netflix.
