2 small children among 7 critically hurt in Hollywood hit-and-run crash
Seven people, including two small children, were critically hurt Saturday night in a hit-and-run accident in Hollywood.
According to the Los Angeles Fire Department, the accident occurred at the 1000 block of Orange Drive. It was reported about 9:38 p.m.
The victims included two boys, ages 1 month and 2 years; a 16-year-old girl; a 20-year-old woman; and three men, two of whom were 19 and 50, the LAFD said. The third man’s age was unknown.
Officers were searching for a driver who fled the scene after the incident, according to a spokesman for the Los Angeles Police Department’s West Traffic Division.
The person being sought was last seen running eastbound on Santa Monica Boulevard. No description was given.
According to the Associated Press, police Sgt. Clifton Frazier said the suspect was the driver of the car believed to have caused the crash. Frazier added that the suspect helped several people get out of his car before he left the scene of the crash.
