Police pursuit ends with suspect stopping traffic on the 105 Freeway
A man suspected of drunk driving led police on a brief pursuit Wednesday night that ended with him lying down in front of traffic on the 105 Freeway, authorities said.
Los Angeles police officers began pursuing the driver at 8:11 p.m. in South Los Angeles, said LAPD Officer Mike Lopez.
As he exited the 105 Freeway at Central Avenue, he crashed into several vehicles on the offramp, Lopez said.
He then ran back on the freeway and lay down on the pavement, shutting down the westbound lanes before he was taken into custody.
An infant in one of the cars struck by the suspect was taken to a hospital as a precaution but did not appear to be seriously injured, Lopez said.
