Quentin Tarantino: An article in the Feb. 25 special Oscars section about surprises and snubs said that writer-director Quentin Tarantino won an Academy Award for original screenplay for “Inglourious Basterds.” He was nominated for an Oscar in 2010 for that film but did not win.
Herbalife: A caption for a photo with the Stock Spotlight column in the Feb. 25 Section A said customers were participating in an exercise session at an Herbalife health club in Artesia. In fact, the exercise session was in Torrance and was hosted by an independent Herbalife distributor.
Selecting a pontiff: An illustration in the Feb. 12 Section A that accompanied an article on the resignation of Pope Benedict XVI included an image of a chalice with a lid beside it. Traditionally, chalices do not have lids.
Lou Myers obituary: An obituary of actor Lou Myers in the Feb. 25 LATExtra section reported his date of birth as Sept. 26, 1945, and his age as 76. He was born Sept. 26, 1935, and was 77 when he died.
Oscar for directing: An article about the Oscar for directing in the Feb. 25 special Oscars section referred to “The Hurt Locker” as a 2008 drama. That film was released in 2009.
