LAFD extinguishes fire after explosion near Vincent Thomas Bridge in San Pedro
Los Angeles fire officials have put out a fire involving an 18-wheeler near the Vincent Thomas Bridge in San Pedro.

The Los Angeles Fire Department has extinguished a fire after an explosion occurred inside a shipping yard at Harbor Boulevard near the Vincent Thomas Bridge in San Pedro. The explosion involved an 18-wheeler.
Los Angeles Times staffer Scott Sandell reported that a plume of smoke could be seen about three miles from the scene.
LAFD assessed a nearby apartment building with four units that contained broken windows, but reported no injuries.
