Gift Pick No. 25: Two Upon Ten cocktail napkins

With hand-pinked edges, black-stitched borders and whimsical letterpress images, these soft linen napkins from Two Upon Ten are a good bet to enliven a holiday party. The unique designs are the latest pick in our Handmade Holidays gift guide because, let’s face it, sometimes paper just won’t do.

Designer Kari Dyas was bored with store-bought cocktail napkins so she created her own Rust & Fig line with her 19th century letterpress. Using linen instead of card stock, Dyas embellishes the 7-by-7-inch napkins with black butcher’s “maps†of cows and pigs that show cuts of meat, as well as a typewriter and a “Handmade in California†stamp (for fear that anyone might think these are store-bought).

The napkins are $40 for a set of four and are machine washable. They can be customized with different fonts or imagery and are available on Dyas’ Two Upon Ten Etsy page. Look for more unique gift picks by local artists on L.A. at Home daily.
