Cisco Home opens at South Coast Collection

Los Angeles-based sustainable furnishings retailer Cisco Home, which recently opened showrooms in San Francisco and Palo Alto, moved south this week, opening a new, 8,000 square-foot showroom at the South Coast Collection in Costa Mesa.

The new location offers handcrafted furnishings the brand is known for: furniture made with reclaimed or responsibly harvested wood, organic fabrics, water-based glues and natural finishes, hand blown glass pendant lamps and one-of-a-kind repurposed furnishings and accessories such as mirrors made from wine barrel remnants.

True to Cisco’s commitment to repurposing objects, the interiors of the new showroom feature a skeleton airplane hanging from the ceiling, a functioning carousel from the 18th century and a collection of old vintage signs from the 1930s-50s.

“Our mission is to design product that is authentic while providing comfort aspects throughout our environments,†said Cisco Pinedo, founder of Cisco Home. “We pride ourselves in creating interesting product out of rescued and cast away objects that may otherwise end up in landfills. We are so excited to become a part of the OC community.â€

Home stores have been steadily multiplying at the South Coast Collection over the last year with recent additions including Design Within Reach, Environment Furniture, Brown Jordan and Organic Modernism. HD Buttercup, the cavernous home furnishings mecca with locations in Culver City and San Francisco, announced in June that it will open a third location, at the South Coast Collection in Costa Mesa in October.

Cisco Home Costa Mesa is in the South Coast Collection design center, 3323 Hyland Ave. Showroom hours: Mondays–Saturdays, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sundays, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
