Check out these ginger cream cookies and vote in our Holiday Cookie Bake-Off
We’re now taking votes for our 6th Los Angeles Times Holiday Cookie Bake-Off. We have 130 tempting entries to choose from, so make your voice heard. It’s time to vote for your favorite.
If you’re curious about some of the entries, check out these ginger cream cookies. They were submitted by Brett Robinson of Newport Beach, who writes:
“Over the years, these fluffy ginger cakes with creamy white butter cream frosting have been my own children’s choice preschool ‘cookie share day’ favorite, delighted friends at Christmas Cookie Exchanges and tea parties, and have been personally savored as a breakfast treat with a cup of hot coffee, or a glass of cold milk. These scrumptious cookies actually improve with age, should you be lucky enough or have sufficient restraint as to have any remaining after you set the plate down.â€
You, the readers, vote online for your favorites. Voting ends at 11:59 p.m. Pacific time on Nov. 28. The top 20 cookie recipes will be tested and judged by our Food staff to determine the five finalists.
The finalists will be invited to the Los Angeles Times for a tour of the Test Kitchen, and will be photographed and featured, along with their recipes, in a Saturday section article during the holidays.
