Dinner with a ghost at Vaucluse, North Nordic dinner, Japan Fair

Vaucluse Lounge owners Brad and Claire Cox believe their Sunset Boulevard lounge might be haunted. The two claim paintings have flown off the walls, unexplained light orbs have appeared and there’s a creepy feeling of being watched. And they want you to experience it. The restaurant is hosting a special dinner with a ghost event on Oct. 22, just in time for Halloween. At 9 p.m. a five-course dinner will be served and guests will be part of a paranormal investigation. Tickets are $295 per person and include drinks. Space is limited. The North Nordic food festival will host a pop-up dinner in Los Angeles on Oct. 21. The dinner will take place at Austere, a Nordic lifestyle showroom in downtown. Jacob Holström and Anton Bjuhr from Michelin-starred Gastrologik in Stockholm will prepare a 15-course meal with beverage pairings. Dinner will begin at 7 p.m. and include potato crisps, quail eggs with fermented peas, burnt leeks with dried mackerel, hay-smoked veal tartare with nasturtiums and more. Japan Fair 2014, a Japanese food and culture festival, will take place Nov. 1 and 2 at the Japanese American Cultural and Community Center in Little Tokyo. Festivities will take place from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and include Japanese food and sake from Japan, music and dancing. Vendors include Tenkatori (karaage), Nabedana sake and more.
