Corner Bakery Cafe's oatmeal currant cookies
Kirk McKoy / Los Angeles Times
These hefty oatmeal cookies are big on both size and flavor. It may seem like there's a lot of cinnamon, but it balances nicely with the vanilla and fruit. And even though they are generously sized, after one bite you may realize one is not enough. Best to have plenty on hand.
Milk's molasses cookies
Bob Chamberlin / Los Angeles Times
These are thin and rich, so have a big glass of milk at the ready.
Farmeeoh cookies
The Farm of Beverly Hills' supersized chocolate sandwich cookies are a spectacularly large and magnificently rich wonder to behold. Just one of their dense chocolate cookies with its sugary-sweet and buttery filling could feed a small family for dessert. They were happy to share their recipe, which we've downsized into home kitchen-size versions of the original.
The Buttery's peanut butter cookies
The Buttery’s take on peanut butter cookies, massive enough that you almost need two hands to hold them, is at once rich, sweet and perfectly crumbly.
Recipe: The Buttery’s peanut butter cookies
Glenn Koenig / Los Angeles Times
The Buttery's take on peanut butter cookies, massive enough that you almost need two hands to hold them, are rich, sweet and perfectly crumbly. Each cookie is garnished with a coating of dry-roasted peanuts around the edge. It's like a little bit of peanut butter heaven with every bite.
Julienne's double-chocolate espresso walnut cookies
Kirk McKoy / Los Angeles Times
Simply put, this is a must-have recipe for any chocolate lover.
