For women of a certain type: House Industries for Uniqlo shirts
- Share via
Type foundry and design studio House Industries and Japanese fast-fashion retailer Uniqlo have collaborated on a line of retro-looking women’s T-shirts festooned with fun, fantastical fonts.
The 16-piece collection of 100% cotton graphic T-shirts ($19.90 each) consists of eight long-sleeve and eight short-sleeve styles bearing all manner of all-over-print alphabets, nimbus-like numerals, patterned punctuation and the occasional Rubenesque ampersand.
Maybe we’re off base but the vibe we’re getting from these is full-on late ‘60s -- the first thing that actually came to mind when we saw them were the “Mad Men” SC&P coffee mugs our fashion critic discovered at Joan’s on Third a few months back. (Either that or we’ve got an undiagnosed ampersand fetish that needs to be addressed.)
The House Industries for Uniqlo collection is available now through U.S. brick-and-mortar Uniqlo stores (the closest store to L.A. is in San Francisco) as well as through the retailer’s website.
