Band of Outsiders partners with Starbucks on designer mug
Starbucks has partnered with Band of Outsiders founder and creative director Scott Sternberg for the fifth mug in the coffee vendor’s designer series.
The two Band of Outsiders for Starbucks limited-edition ceramic mugs, which hold 12 fluid ounces each, resemble regular logo-emblazoned Starbucks paper coffee cups but for the logo rendered in black and drips of paint (black paint on one version, multicolored paint on the other) running down the sides of the cup from the rim. (“Drip†coffee, get it?)
Past cup collaborations between the coffee giant and the fashion world include Jonathan Adler (in 2010), Rodarte (2012), Charlotte Ronson (summer 2013) and, most recently, Alice + Olivia’s Stacey Bendet for winter 2013.
This isn’t the first time Sternberg and company have partnered with other brands. One of the most memorable was a limited-edition cookie-cutter collaboration with Neiman Marcus and Target from a few holiday seasons ago. Thanks to the addition of the coffee mug, it looks like the label now has the tea time / coffee break part of the day pretty well accessorized.
My we humbly suggest a Band of Outsiders barbecue apron for consideration?
Slim-fitting of course.
The Band of Outsiders for Starbucks limited-edition designer ceramic mug is scheduled to hit starbucksstore.com on June 10, followed by a retail rollout to select Startbucks locations on June 24. The suggested retail price is $14.95.
