LA JOLLA — A Poway High teen lost a finger and was arrested in a knife fight that broke out at La Jolla Shores Monday night, San Diego police said.
The 18-year-old was treated at a hospital for the dismembered finger, then arrested on suspicion of stabbing a 14-year-old, police said.
A group of Poway High School students were having a party at La Jolla Shores, near Camino del Oro, and a fight broke out about 11:20 p.m. The younger teen was stabbed in the back and slashed across one cheek, Officer Dino Delimitros said.
Somehow in the fight, the older teen’s finger was cut off. After being treated, he was jailed on charges of assault with a deadly weapon and inflicting mayhem. He was held on $50,000 bail, according to a jail record.
