President Obama’s live address crashes premiere of ‘Boris & Nicole’ talk show
Husband-and-wife team Boris Kodjoe and Nicole Ari Parker will never forget the debut of their syndicated daytime talk show -- though they may not be smiling when they look back.
The local broadcast of “The Boris & Nicole Show,” which launched a four-week test run on Fox stations, was barely underway at 1 p.m. on Fox Channel 11 when it was interrupted by a live broadcast of a statement by President Obama regarding the terrorist group Islamic State.
The channel stayed with Obama’s address for about 20 minutes before switching back to “Boris & Nicole,” which was in the midst of an interview segment with Alfonso Riberio, the former co-star of “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air” who has been named as the new host of “America’s Funniest Home Videos.”
The couple, who had previously appeared in the series “Soul Food,” are the latest in a stream of black performers who have entered the daytime arena with talk and game shows.
