The Big Bang Theory Leonard (Johnny Galecki) and Penny (Kaley Cuoco-Sweeting) head to Las Vegas, but there’s a hitch in their plans to get hitched. Meanwhile, back in Pasadena, Amy (Mayim Bialik) wants a relationship “time out” with Sheldon (Jim Parsons) in the smart comedy’s season premiere, with recurring guest star Laurie Metcalf. 8 p.m. CBS
The Voice The singing competition returns for a new season with judges Adam Levine, Blake Shelton, Gwen Stefani and Pharrell Williams. 8 p.m. NBC
Gotham The “Batman” prequel starts its second season with Michael Chiklis joining the cast as a detective whose presence proves concerning for Gordon (Ben McKenzie). Robin Lord Taylor, Donal Logue and David Mazouz also star. 8 p.m. Fox
Rachael Ray’s Kids Cook-Off The young chefs cook meals inspired by the upcoming animated Halloween movie “Hotel Transylvania 2” in this new episode. 8 p.m. Food
Life in Pieces Dianne Wiest and James Brolin star in this new family comedy as parents with grown children ( Betsy Brandt, Thomas Sadoski and Colin Hanks). 8:30 p.m. CBS
Scorpion The team reunites just in time to try to avert a disaster — a nuclear-fueled Russian satellite heading toward Southern California —in the second-season premiere. Katharine McPhee also stars in the season premiere. 9 p.m. CBS
Minority Report Stark Sands, Meagan Good and Laura Regan play “precogs” — people who can see the future and, in their cases, use their gift to help police detect crimes before they happen in this new series based on the movie. 9 p.m. Fox
NCIS: Los Angeles Callen (Chris O’Donnell) goes off on his own, and no one on the team knows where or why in the season premiere. Linda Hunt, LL Cool J and Miguel Ferrer also star. 10 p.m. CBS
Blindspot In the premiere of this new mystery-adventure series, a woman (Jaimie Alexander) with tattoos covering her entire body is found naked in Times Square, with no clue as to how she got there or who she is. Sullivan Stapleton also stars. 10 p.m. NBC
Castle The mystery series launches its eighth season with Nathan Fillion and Stana Katic. 10 p.m. ABC
POV An advice columnist who spent her youth in New York continually fearful she’d be discovered as an undocumented immigrant and deported is profiled in filmmaker Mikaela Shwer’s documentary “Don’t Tell Anyone (No Le Digas a Nadie).” 10 p.m. KOCE
