Actress-singer Kristen Chenoweth was injured on the set of CBS’ “The Good Wife” after being struck by a piece of equipment and was rushed to a New York area hospital for treatment.
A statement by CBS said that Chenoweth was filming a scene for the drama in Brooklyn when a gust of wind blew a lighting silk out of place, striking the actress. She received treatment on the scene by the show’s medic until a New York Fire Department emergency medical team arrived and transported her to a hospital, the statement said.
“All of us at the studio and the show are thinking about Kristen and wishing her a quick recovery,” the statement said.
One report on the TMZ website from a witness said the actress was “knocked out cold.”
Chenoweth has been cast in a recurring role on the acclaimed drama as a “top-of-her-game” political reporter who “matches wits” with the show’s central couple, Alicia Florek (Juliana Margulies) and her husband, Peter Florek (Chris Noth), who is running for political office.
The actress was last seen on ABC’s short-lived series, “GCB,” which ran last season.
