Jimmy Fallon reunites Kenan and Kel on ‘The Tonight Show’
Proving again that he’s master of orchestrating the reunions you didn’t know you wanted, as with “Full House†and “Saved By The Bell,†Jimmy Fallon reunited Kel Mitchell and Kenan Thompson for a “Good Burger†sketch on Wednesday night’s show.
For those not trapped in an ever-rotating carousel of 90s nostalgia, who may not understand the significance of the reunion, Mitchell and Thompson were originating cast members of Nickelodeon’s kids sketch comedy show “All That,†a show that would eventually launch the career of Amanda Bynes. The pair, known as Kenan & Kel, were breakout stars who landed their own eponymously-titled sitcom on Nickelodeon, as well as the feature film “Good Burger,†based on the sketch.

“It was so, so great. Kenan and I are still talking about it,†Mitchell said in an interview on Thursday, “It was awesome to be back in that zone again and be on set together. It felt like old times.†Mitchell also had nothing but high praise for “The Tonight Show†crew, saying, “Jimmy and his crew did an awesome job of how they made it look. I mean, it looked like the real set!â€
More than anything, however, what matters is how fans responded to seeing their childhood recaptured, if only for a moment. “To see how people responded was awesome — the cheers had me pumped. Let’s all order spicy chicken wraps.â€
