Fox and The Lonely Island have unveiled the first three comedy projects from their joint development deal, called “Party Over Here.” One of them features a beloved “Community” vet.
The Lonely Island, the comedy troupe made up of “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” star Andy Samberg, Akiva Schaffer and Jorma Taccone, is in production on the projects, which are intended to become series on Fox, FX, FXX or Fox International’s channels.
The highest-profile project is “The Tyler Zone,” starring “Community’s” Danny Pudi as Tyler, a guy who moves to a new town and begins to notice bizarre supernatural occurrences happening around him. Or are they all in his head?
Another project, “Home for the Weekend,” is a mockumentary-style series featuring celebrities traveling to their hometowns for short trips that generally take unexpected turns. The series is to be hosted by comedian Neal Brennan, and the pilot features the Lonely Island guys returning to their hometown of Berkeley.
The third project, “Topics With Andre Hyland,” features the comedian from the Web series “Hollywood & Hyland” as he disguises himself as outrageous characters and interacts with an unsuspecting public.
“The Spectacular Now” co-producer Billy Rosenberg serves as the head of development and production for the partnership, which expect to announce more comedy projects soon.
Samberg, Schaffer and Taccone serve as executive producers of all three shows.
