“Big Brother” crowned the winner of its 14th season during the live finale Wednesday and the lucky guy turned out to be Pittsburgh engineering student Ian Terry.
Terry, who attends Tulane University, beat out the 15 other contestants in the Big Brother house to last 75 days and picked up the grand prize of $500,000.
This season has had its share of controversies, including contestant Willie Hantz getting expelled from the house after headbutting a fellow contestant and unemployed contestant Frank Eudy, who reportedly cheated at the game. Not that it mattered in the end -- Frank was evicted on day 62.
For the finale, Terry had to face a jury of the seven previously evicted contestants, including Ashley Iocco, Britney Hayes, Frank Eudy, Joe Arvin, Jenn Arroyo, Shane Meaney and Danielle Murphree. The panel asked Terry and the other finalist, Dan Gheesling, a series of questions and then put the winner up to a vote. Terry won six to one.
Another season of “Big Brother” has been announced, and will begin next summer on CBS.
