Watch our live chats with ‘Empire’ stars Grace Gealey and Trai Byers
The warring kingdoms of Fox’s hit hip-hop family drama “Empire†are at each other’s throats and we couldn’t be happier. Central to the drama are Trai Byers and Grace Gealey, who both will be stopping by The Times for a live chat Thursday morning.
Byers captured hearts last season with his emotional portrayal of Andre, the eldest son who is bipolar. While he is the most educated and financially savvy of the three Lyon sons, he is jealous of the attention his younger brothers garner. But this season, he’s packing some heat as the Lyon clan (minus Lucious and Jamal) tries to take over Empire. We’ll be chatting with him at 10 a.m. PST -- and I’m asking questions about his role, his new modeling contract and his love of “The Simpsons.â€
We loved her last season as Cookie’s nemesis, and Gealey returns with a little more spice this season. She’s known as one of the heads at Empire Entertainment, launching the careers of several artists on the label. With an epic twerk scene in the Season 2 premiere last week, which was the most tweeted-about scene of the week, she’s staking her claim at Empire Entertainment as well. We’re chatting with her at 11 a.m. PST.
