Jon Hamm, Daniel Radcliffe to return in ‘A Young Doctor’s Notebook’

The doctors are in, again: Jon Hamm and Daniel Radcliffe have signed on for a second season of “A Young Doctor’s Notebook & Other Stories,†TV network Sky Arts announced.

The British dramedy, which airs in the U.S. on Ovation, stars Hamm as a reputable doctor during the Russian Revolution and Radcliffe as his less suave younger self.

The show premiered last year and is based on works by celebrated Russian writer and playwright Mikhail Bulgakov, including the semi-autobiographical “Morphine.â€

The series, which will air later this year, returns to the village of Muryevo in 1918 with Radcliffe battling a morphine addiction while his older, sober self looks on.

Hamm said in a statement that he’s “thrilled†to return to the show’s “wonderful, weird, wild world†and “continuing this bizarre adventure.â€

A “huge fan of Mikhail Bulgakov’s work,†Radcliffe said in a statement he “cannot wait to commence filming this summer.â€

The series also stars Tony nominee Adam Godley, Rosie Cavaliero and Vicki Pepperdine.
