Red Hot Chili Peppers, Weezer and Garbage will play KROQ’s Weenie Roast on May 14
The Red Hot Chili Peppers, Weezer and Garbage are among the veteran alt-rock acts booked to perform at KROQ-FM’s annual Weenie Roast concert, the Los Angeles radio station was expected to announce Monday morning.
This year’s event, the last Weenie Roast to be held at Irvine Meadows Amphitheatre before the Orange County venue is closed later this year, will take place May 14.
Other bands on the bill include Empire of the Sun, Panic! at the Disco, the Lumineers, Cold War Kids, Miike Snow and Fitz and the Tantrums. Lukas Graham and the Strumbellas will also appear.

“After 23 years, our Irvine Meadows tradition comes to an end,†the station’s Kevin Weatherly said in a statement. “In true KROQ fashion, we’ve created what promises to be an unforgettable experience for our listeners.â€
Tickets for Weenie Roast, which will direct the proceeds to Heal the Bay and the Surfrider Foundation, are set to go on sale Friday to members of KROQ’s street team.
