Watching biographical DVDs can be like having the most interesting people visiting at your home. This week I’m focusing on three especially fascinating folks, two of them with Hollywood connections.

“Baby Peggy: The Elephant in the Room†tells the tale of one of the first and most popular of Hollywood’s child stars, Baby Peggy, who turned a troubled young life into a career as respected film author and historian Diana Serra Cary.

“Wild Bill, Hollywood Maverick†brings us into the life of William A. Wellman, who went from being an ace pilot in World War I to a career as a top Hollywood director.

For those who are sports-minded, especially anyone of a Brooklyn Dodger persuasion, “Branca’s Pitch†tells the involving story of the great Dodger pitcher who threw the pitch that gave the New York Giants the 1951 pennant. It’s quite a tale.
