Johnny Depp gets into the book biz with Infinitum Nihil imprint
Johnny Depp is getting into the book business.
Depp will put the name of his film production company, Infinitum Nihil, on a new imprint in the HarperCollins Publishers family, it was announced Monday.
“Infinitum nihil,†by the way, translates to “There is no infinite,†or essentially, “Nothing lasts forever.†Depp, however, appears to be aspiring to do something for the ages.
“I pledge, on behalf of Infinitum Nihil, that we will do our best to deliver publications worthy of peoples’ time, of peoples’ concern,†Depp said in a statement.
“Publications that might ordinarily never have breached the parapet. For this dream realized, we would like to salute HarperCollins for their faith in us and look forward to a long and fruitful relationship together.â€
Depp’s film career has in a way trained for the gig, Jacket Copy notes: The actor has 18 literary-minded movies under his belt already.
On the imprint’s to-do list: “The Unraveled Tales of Bob Dylan,†due out in 2015 and based in part on interviews with the singer-songwriter by historian Douglas Brinkley.
