Ten months after the death of Amy Winehouse, the singer’s family has put her London home up for sale at $4.2 million.

After Winehouse died at age 27 in July, mourning fans quickly transformed the site of her three-bedroom home into a shrine dedicated to the soul diva, blanketing the sidewalk with flowers, candles, photos, cards and other mementos.

According to the Sun, a family spokesperson said, “The Winehouses have decided to put the house on the market, with great regret,†and added, “Amy loved that house but none of the family felt it appropriate that they should live in it.â€

Despite earlier speculation that the house might be turned into headquarters for the Amy Winehouse Foundation, the family ultimately “decided it would be impractical to base the charity at the house.â€

The keepsakes left at the Winehouse home won’t be the last of tributes to the late singer: Fellow artist Patti Smith told Billboard recently that “This Is the Girl,†one of the songs on her forthcoming album “Banga,†was inspired by Winehouse.

“I felt very saddened†by her death, Smith said. “I thought she was extremely gifted. I loved her voice. I thought it was a very important voice, very authentic, and I just wrote a little poem for her when she died.... It was an unexpected gift that just sort of appeared.â€

Smith’s album is due June 5.
