Galactic at the El Rey

Veterans of the Crescent City music scene who earned well-deserved mainstream notice with turns in HBO’s jazz-drunk drama “Treme,” Galactic added new dimensions to its rambunctious sound with the recently released “Carnivale Electricos.” Featuring contributions from hip-hop’s Mystikal, Big Chief Juan Pardo and two, count ‘em, two Neville Brothers, Galactic shows enough funk-driven firepower to start several Mardi Gras parades.
