Sofia Vergara gets engaged to Nick Loeb on Mexican getaway

Sofia Vergara is about to have a modern family of her own. The Colombian sensation is reportedly engaged to boyfriend Nick Loeb.

Loeb popped the question during a Mexican getaway to ring in the actress’ 40th birthday.

Vergara, Loeb and a group of pals have flocked to the Rosewood Mayakoba spa resort in the Riviera Maya, according to People, where a Monday sightseeing trek became a much bigger milestone for the couple.

At the Maya ruins of Chichen Itza, Vergara’s boyfriend of two years (aside from a rumored split in June) got a yes to his marriage proposal, says Celebuzz.

Back at the Rosewood, one of Vergara’s pals tweeted an innocent photo from dinner that happened to feature Sofia rocking a dazzling ring.

Vergara and Loeb met at a 2010 Golden Globes party. Their bond strengthened following a serious car wreck that saw Sofia nurse Nick back to health. In May, the New York Post said frequent arguments had them on the verge of a break-up.

Clearly they worked their way through it. Vergara is the star of ABC’s”Modern Family”and also has an eponymous clothing line sold at K-Mart. Loeb, a businessman, considered a run for the Florida state Senate in 2011.

Vergara has a 20-year-old son, Manolo, from a previous marriage.
