Video: VidCon: Sam Pepper, Harrison Webb discuss the freedoms of video
Sam Pepper, 25, is a U.K.-based YouTube personality with over 2 million subscribers, interviewing people on the streets of London. Harrison Webb, 17, has fashioned a loyal following with his comedic videos on YouTube; he has over 260,000 subscribers.
YouTube personalities Sam Pepper and Harrison Webb are big endorsers of the self.
At the annual VidCon, the friends and frequent collaborators caused a rather large selfie circle to form in the main hall Friday at the Anaheim Convention Center. The British YouTubers took the assembly line approach in greeting fans, quickly posing as they made their way behind the line of fans who had their arms outstretched with phone cameras ready to capture the fleeting moment.
Pepper, 25, and Webb, 17, have made a name for themselves separately in the online video realm with their own brand of comedic videos. And they encourage others to take the plunge if they’re looking for a space to be themselves.
“Online videos are important because it gives you the freedom to say whatever you want to say,†Pepper said. “Young people can do it, old people can do it. It doesn’t matter who you are.â€
Webb offered up this tip: “Just being the real person you are is the best thing, as well.â€
