There’s a new ‘Cloverfield’ movie from J.J. Abrams? And it’s out in two months?

Remember “Cloverfield,†the 2008 found-footage film from little-known director Matt Reeves, recently Oscar-nominated writer Drew Goddard and produced by J.J. Abrams? Well, turns out there’s a secret sequel coming out in March -- yes, this March. Or at least we think it’s a sequel (you can watch the trailer and decide for yourself).

Last night Abrams’ mystery box reopened and dropped “10 Cloverfield Lane.†With no plot details and only three cast members (none with character names), the trailer starts with a jukebox playing Tommy James and the Shondells’ “I Think We’re Alone Now.†Inside what looks like a bunker, actors Mary Elizabeth Winstead, John Goodman and John Gallagher Jr. play the board game Life while tension mounts.

And that’s all we got, along with this poster that references monsters, and the new crew list.

J.J. Abrams is back as producer. The story is by Josh Campbell & Matt Stuecken. The screenplay is by Josh Campbell, Matt Stuecken and Damien Chazelle. It’s directed by Dan Trachtenberg.†That’s it. That’s all we got.

However, we can see from the trailer that clearly these three survivors are holed up inside some sort of fallout shelter. And when one of them tries to leave, Goodman loses it, screaming, “Don’t open that door, you’re going to get all of us killed!†Also, the song “I Think We’re Alone Now†is kind of implying a hopeful (yet scared) survivor mentality. Are these the last members of the human race? Are they living in a post-â€Cloverfield†world?

Thankfully, all of this will be answered soon (the movie comes out on March 11). Then again, maybe it won’t.
