Jennifer Lawrence, Chris Martin no longer an item, assuming they ever were
Jennifer Lawrence and Chris Martin’s romance is off — assuming, that is, that it was ever really on.
The Oscar-winning star of “The Hunger Games†and the frontman for Coldplay have ended their short-lived liaison, People and E! Online reported Monday. Thankfully, there was no mention of “consciously uncoupling†this time around.
Us Weekly’s sources chalked up the breakup to a relationship made “rocky†by the A-listers’ “insane†schedules, despite the fact that the two “really like each other.â€
Lawrence, 24, and Martin, 37, were first linked in mid-August, with reports indicating that the unlikely duo had been hanging out since late June. The stories were pretty much corroborated when she was spotted backstage in mid-September at the iHeartRadio concert in Las Vegas, where he was in the lineup; the two were then photographed together a day later getting off a private plane at Van Nuys Airport, E! reported.
The actress was also glimpsed supporting Martin’s band when it headlined with the Kings of Leon at the Hollywood Bowl earlier this month.
Neither party publicly addressed their relationship, which came to light amid this summer’s massive celebrity nude photo leak. Lawrence commented on the mess in a Vanity Fair profile, in which she also enumerated the qualities she looks for in a boyfriend. (Looks like Martin didn’t fit the bill after all; however, Larry David did.)
Both halves of the alleged item were fresh off high-profile relationships when they were first matched up: Lawrence had split with her longtime boyfriend and “X-Men†costar Nicholas Hoult; the rocker had famously “consciously uncoupled†with actress and lifestyle maven Gwyneth Paltrow in March after more than a decade of marriage.
Martin and Paltrow — parents to Apple, 10, and Moses, 8 — remain cozy and have been spotted together several times since announcing their uncoupling.
In a July radio interview, Martin said that he and the actress remain “very close†as they co-parent their children.
